Troubleshooting & FAQ
A Product or Modifier is missing
Trace a missing item through catalogue status, Store visibility, POS layout, availability, and channel-specific settings.
Overview
- A Product can exist in the Business catalogue but still be absent from POS, Online Ordering, or another channel because Store/channel visibility, layout placement, category status, or availability differs.
- Sold Out/Availability is separate from Inventory quantity.
- POS layout controls where staff find Products on POS; it does not control the public Online Ordering layout.
- Modifier availability and Modifier Group rules can hide/block an option even when the base Product is available.
When to use this
- Use this when an item exists in Back Office but staff/customers cannot select it.
Step-by-step
- Confirm the Product/Modifier and its Category/Group are active.
- Confirm the correct Store is selected.
- Check Store/channel visibility and Store overrides.
- Check Product/Modifier Availability and any Tomorrow/No plan sold-out state.
- For POS, check the assigned POS Layout.
- For Online Ordering, check online visibility and the Store's sold-out presentation.
- For Modifiers, verify selection limits and required/optional configuration.
Common mistakes
- Do not delete/recreate an item to fix a temporary Sold Out state.
- Do not use Inventory quantity as a substitute for Availability.
- Do not expect a POS Layout change to rearrange Online Ordering.
Troubleshooting
- If only one Store is affected, focus on Store overrides/availability/layout.
- If every Store is affected, inspect the Business catalogue/category/group itself.
