Online Ordering
What customers see in the online menu
Understand online images/descriptions, sold-out items, badges, search, modifiers, notes, and checkout upsells.
Overview
- The storefront uses shared MiniTill Categories, Products, Modifier Groups, and Modifier Options after Store/channel visibility and availability rules are applied.
- Online-specific images/descriptions can improve customer presentation without changing the staff POS layout.
- Customers can search menu items, filter in-stock items, choose required/optional modifiers, change quantities, and add notes.
- Configured badges and checkout upsells can appear where eligible.
- Sold-out products can remain visibly marked or be hidden according to Store settings.
When to use this
- Review the public storefront whenever menu structure or promotions change.
Step-by-step
- Review category order.
- Add clear online images/descriptions.
- Test required modifiers.
- Verify sold-out behaviour.
- Test search, badges, upsells, and cart editing on mobile.
Common mistakes
- Do not expose confusing internal shorthand to customers.
- Do not make unnecessary modifiers required.
- Do not expect POS Layout placement to control the storefront.
Troubleshooting
- If a product is missing, check online visibility, Store overrides, availability, and sold-out presentation.
- If an option cannot be selected, check modifier limits and availability.
