Menu & Catalogue

Control what each store can sell

Use store-level category, product, modifier-group, and online visibility controls without duplicating the business catalogue.

Overview

  • MiniTill separates the shared Business catalogue from Store-specific selling rules.
  • A Store can control Category availability plus POS and Online visibility without deleting the Business category.
  • Store Modifier Groups can be enabled/disabled and independently controlled for online visibility.
  • Products also inherit Business defaults but can have Store-specific selling/online settings and pricing.
  • This lets one Business share the same catalogue while different locations sell different subsets of it.

When to use this

  • Use Store-level menu controls when one branch does not sell an item/category, when a modifier group is not offered at a location, or when online offerings differ by Store.
  • Use these settings instead of creating duplicate Business products for each location.

Step-by-step

  1. Select the Store you want to configure.
  2. Open the Store menu Category settings and review Enabled, POS visibility, Online visibility, and ordering.
  3. Review Store Product settings for products that need local visibility or presentation changes.
  4. Open Store Modifier Groups and enable only the groups the location actually offers; separately review Online visibility.
  5. Use Product/Modifier Availability for temporary shortages rather than changing permanent Store configuration.
  6. Open POS and the online storefront to verify the effective menu for that Store.

Common mistakes

  • Do not delete a Business category or product just because one Store does not sell it.
  • Do not confuse permanent Store enablement/visibility with temporary Sold Out availability.
  • Do not assume POS visibility and Online visibility are tied together.
  • Do not configure the wrong Store; these settings intentionally vary by location.

Troubleshooting

  • If an entire group of products is missing, check the Store Category before investigating each Product.
  • If modifiers are missing only online, check the Store Modifier Group's Online visibility.
  • If an item should be enabled but is still unsellable, check temporary Product/Modifier Availability as well.
  • If another Store is unaffected by your change, that is expected for Store-scoped settings.
