Store and marketplace pricing

Understand base prices, store overrides, marketplace prices, modifier marketplace prices, and fallback behaviour.

Overview

  • Products have a Business-level Base Price.
  • A Store can override that price for local POS/normal store selling without creating a second Product.
  • A separate Marketplace Price can be set for a Store. When it is blank, MiniTill falls back to the effective Store price.
  • Modifier options can also have marketplace-specific price overrides.
  • This structure lets a café keep normal in-store pricing while using different delivery-channel pricing where fees or commercial terms require it.

When to use this

  • Use Store Price when one location charges a different normal price.
  • Use Marketplace Price when delivery-channel pricing should differ from the Store price.
  • Leave an override blank when you want MiniTill to inherit the appropriate fallback price.

Step-by-step

  1. Set the Product Base Price in Menu → Products.
  2. Select the Store and open Menu → Store & Marketplace Prices.
  3. Enter a Store Price only for products that need a local override.
  4. Enter a Marketplace Price only when the delivery-channel price should differ.
  5. Review Modifier marketplace prices for extras/options that also need different delivery pricing.
  6. Leave fields blank to use the documented fallback rather than copying the same number into every override.

Common mistakes

  • Do not change the Base Price to solve a price difference at only one Store.
  • Do not fill every override with the same value; inherited pricing is easier to maintain.
  • Do not assume a Marketplace Price changes normal POS or Online Ordering pricing.
  • Be cautious with negative modifier prices: external marketplaces that do not support negative values may publish them as zero.

Troubleshooting

  • If POS shows the wrong price, compare the Product Base Price and Store Price override.
  • If a marketplace order uses the wrong price, check the Marketplace Price override and whether the provider catalogue was republished/synchronized as required.
  • If a modifier price differs by channel, review its normal price adjustment and marketplace-specific override separately.
