Profile and account security settings
Change your MiniTill display name and understand which sign-in/security settings are controlled by your authentication provider.
Overview
- Account Profile allows the signed-in user to change the personal Name shown across MiniTill.
- The account Email is currently read-only on the MiniTill Profile page.
- Password and sign-in security are managed by the authentication/sign-in provider rather than by a MiniTill password form.
- Staff should use individual accounts and sign out of shared devices after use.
- POS manager/security PINs are operational approvals and are not the user's account password.
When to use this
- Use Profile when your displayed personal name changes; use your sign-in provider for password/security changes.
Step-by-step
- Open Account → Profile.
- Edit Name and Save profile.
- For password/sign-in security, use the configured authentication provider.
- For a former staff member, remove/disable their Business/Store access instead of sharing or changing someone else's account.
Common mistakes
- Do not share one Owner/Manager login among multiple employees.
- Do not treat a POS approval PIN as a login credential.
- Do not expect the read-only Profile email field to change the sign-in identity.
Troubleshooting
- If the displayed name did not update, reload the account/session after saving.
- If login security needs changing, use the sign-in provider rather than searching for a MiniTill password-change screen.
