POS & Selling
Understand Held, Online, and Uber Eats alerts
Know what the POS header counters mean and which queue to open when an order needs attention.
Overview
- The POS can show small operational counters so staff do not have to keep checking several separate screens.
- Held shows unpaid/open POS orders that have been put aside and may need to be resumed.
- Online shows MiniTill Online Ordering orders in the relevant review/confirmed workflow.
- Uber Eats shows incoming marketplace orders that need attention, and the counters update automatically while POS is connected.
- These counters are queues, not extra copies of the order. Opening the relevant queue is safer than manually recreating an order.
When to use this
- Use the counters during service whenever a number appears or increases and you need to know whether it is a held sale, online order, or marketplace order.
Step-by-step
- Tap Held to open the Draft/Open queue and resume the correct unpaid order.
- Tap Online to open the online-order queue and follow its confirm/reject or operational status flow.
- Tap Uber Eats to open the marketplace queue and use the incoming-order acceptance/retry actions provided there.
- Open the order detail before acting when customer name, order number, pickup time, or source needs confirmation.
- After acting, return to the register; the counters update from the current order state.
Common mistakes
- Do not recreate an online or Uber Eats order manually because you noticed an alert; first open the corresponding queue.
- Do not assume Held means a failed order; it usually means an unpaid order intentionally left open.
- Do not treat the Uber Eats counter as proof that every Marketplace source is directly integrated. The direct supported marketplace integration is Uber Eats.
Troubleshooting
- If a counter does not clear immediately, refresh the queue and confirm the order's latest server status.
- If Online or Uber Eats counts appear delayed, check the POS internet connection and reopen the order list if needed.
- If an order appears in the wrong queue, check its Source, review status, payment status, and whether it is already in a terminal state.
