POS & Selling
Native POS hardware and Customer Display
Know which selling features depend on the native app, local printers, or a paired Customer Display.
Overview
- MiniTill POS mobile adds local hardware behaviour on top of the same MiniTill order system.
- Native capabilities include direct receipt/kitchen printing, secure persistent device/session state, payment recovery behaviour, and local Customer Display discovery/pairing.
- A POS can pair with at most one CDS. A Store can still have multiple separate POS-to-CDS pairs.
- The paired CDS can receive the live cart, totals, selected customer/loyalty context, and completion/Thank-you information over the local connection.
When to use this
- Use the native POS when a counter needs dependable local printing or its own customer-facing display.
Step-by-step
- Configure the POS device in Back Office.
- Configure printers and test them before service.
- If using CDS, place POS and CDS on the appropriate local network and pair that POS with one display.
- Run a test order and confirm the customer display and print routing behave as expected.
Common mistakes
- Do not expect Web POS to discover/pair a native CDS like the mobile app.
- Do not try to pair multiple CDS devices to one POS.
- Do not assume a printer registered for one Store/device will automatically be the correct route for another register.
Troubleshooting
- If CDS is not found, check local-network permission, same-network reachability, and CDS pairing/advertisement state.
- If printing fails, check the native printer configuration, network reachability, and failed/pending print jobs.
- If a device restart occurs during payment, recover the saved checkout/payment state before starting a new charge.
