Online Ordering
Use loyalty points on an online order
Redeem eligible points during checkout and understand the limits MiniTill revalidates before accepting the order.
Overview
- Online redemption is available only after the customer is identified through the loyalty session.
- Maximum redeemable points are limited by customer balance, order subtotal, Point value, and any maximum-per-order setting.
- Minimum redemption and redemption increments are enforced.
- The Storefront shows an estimate, but the server recalculates and validates the requested points when placing the order.
- On successful order creation, MiniTill deducts the redeemed points and creates a REDEEM loyalty-ledger entry linked to the online order.
When to use this
- Use point redemption when a signed-in customer wants to reduce the amount they will pay at pickup.
Step-by-step
- Sign in to loyalty.
- Review balance/redemption choices.
- Choose an eligible points amount.
- Check the estimated discount and Place order amount.
- Submit once and let the server revalidate.
- Collect only the remaining amount due at pickup.
Common mistakes
- Do not promise the browser estimate as final before server acceptance.
- Do not expect redemption below the configured minimum.
- Do not manually deduct points after the order already wrote a REDEEM entry.
Troubleshooting
- If fewer points are available than expected, check balance, Point value, subtotal, minimum, maximum and increment.
- If balance changed in another session, refresh and retry.
