Online Ordering
Pause ordering and handle sold-out items
Temporarily stop new orders or sell out products/options without deleting catalogue data.
Overview
- Pause ordering stops accepting new online orders and can show a Store-defined message.
- Product/Modifier availability comes from shared Store availability controls.
- Show sold out items controls whether unavailable products stay visible as sold out.
- The server revalidates current availability again at submission.
When to use this
- Pause the whole Store only when it cannot accept online orders; use product/modifier availability for individual shortages.
Step-by-step
- Enable Pause ordering for a Store-wide temporary stop.
- Use Product/Modifier availability for specific shortages.
- Choose whether sold-out products remain visible.
- Resume when capacity returns.
Common mistakes
- Do not pause the whole Store because one item sold out.
- Do not delete products for temporary shortages.
- Do not assume an item in an old cart can bypass current availability.
Troubleshooting
- If all submissions fail, check Pause first.
- If one option fails, inspect current modifier availability.
