Business, Stores & Staff
Manage businesses
Create and maintain the businesses owned by your MiniTill account, including business identity and status.
Overview
- Owners can manage the businesses attached to their MiniTill account from Owner → Businesses.
- Each business has its own name, contact details, address, GST number, slug, active status, stores, staff memberships, billing context, and business-scoped settings.
- One owner can operate more than one business. Each business remains a separate operational boundary even when the same person owns them.
When to use this
- Use Business management when setting up a separate company or trading operation that should have its own stores, staff access, business settings, and billing context.
- Use Edit Business when contact details, GST information, address, or active status changes.
Step-by-step
- Open Owner → Businesses.
- Choose an existing business to review its details, or select Add business to create another business.
- Enter the business name and required contact details, then add address, phone, and GST number where applicable.
- Keep the business active while it is in normal use.
- After creating a business, add one or more stores and configure staff access for the people who will operate it.
Common mistakes
- Do not create a new Business for every physical location when the stores belong to the same operating business.
- Do not delete a business merely because one store has closed; manage the store separately.
- Deleting a business is a destructive owner action and should not be used as a normal way to hide or pause operations.
Troubleshooting
- If Owner → Businesses is not visible, confirm that your account has the Owner role.
- If you can operate a store but cannot edit its parent business, you may be a Store Manager or Cashier rather than an Owner or Business Manager.
- If a newly created business has no operational pages yet, add a store and ensure your active business/store scope is set correctly.
