Kitchen Display (KDS)
Accept or reject incoming orders from KDS
Handle online and supported marketplace approval-required orders without leaving the kitchen workflow.
Overview
- KDS can surface orders that require review before they become normal preparation work.
- MiniTill Online Ordering can use an accept/reject review flow when manual acceptance is enabled.
- Uber Eats incoming orders can be accepted/rejected from KDS using the supported integration flow.
- Incoming marketplace detail may briefly show as loading; MiniTill retries/polls and exposes Retry when detail retrieval takes too long or fails.
When to use this
- Use the approval panel whenever KDS shows Approval required rather than manually creating the same order in POS.
Step-by-step
- Open/review the incoming order.
- Check customer/order number, total, items, modifiers, notes, and any warnings.
- For Uber Eats, set the preparation/ready target before accepting.
- Accept when the kitchen can fulfil it, or use the supported reject path with the required reason.
- After acceptance, confirm the order moves into normal KDS preparation.
Common mistakes
- Do not accept an order before its item/detail data has loaded sufficiently to review.
- Do not manually recreate an incoming order because loading takes a few seconds; use Retry if MiniTill exposes it.
- Do not assume unsupported marketplace groundwork has the same acceptance behaviour as Uber Eats.
Troubleshooting
- If Accept is blocked, review mapping/data warnings such as missing items or invalid totals.
- If order detail fetch fails, use Retry and inspect the marketplace connection rather than duplicating the order.
