Kitchen Display (KDS)
Using Mobile KDS during a connection problem
Know what staff can safely do when Mobile KDS temporarily loses its connection.
Overview
- If Mobile KDS temporarily loses its connection, it may continue showing the most recently loaded kitchen orders.
- While the displayed information may be out of date, MiniTill can temporarily disable order actions to prevent accidental changes.
- Normal controls return after the connection is restored and the KDS has refreshed.
When to use this
- Use this when the KDS still shows orders but some buttons are unavailable or the screen says the information may be out of date.
Step-by-step
- Treat any out-of-date warning as read-only information.
- Check the device's Wi-Fi or internet connection.
- Wait for the KDS to reconnect and refresh.
- Confirm the warning has cleared before changing order status.
- If the device does not reconnect, reopen the app and check its pairing.
Common mistakes
- Do not assume visible orders mean the device is currently connected.
- Do not recreate orders elsewhere just because KDS actions are temporarily unavailable.
- Do not repeatedly tap disabled buttons.
Troubleshooting
- If the warning remains after internet access returns, reopen the app and confirm the correct Store and KDS are paired.
- If pairing is no longer valid, pair the KDS again from Back Office.
