Inventory & Stocktake
Use Minimum stock, Target stock, and Restock list
Turn a real ingredient shortage into a target quantity and supplier-aware pack suggestion using Costing data.
Overview
- An item becomes Low when Current stock is strictly below its configured Minimum stock.
- Restock suggestions currently focus on low Ingredient stock that has both Minimum and Target configured.
- Needed quantity is calculated as Target stock minus Current stock.
- MiniTill then looks at active Ingredient Purchase Options for the Store.
- Selection preference is: a usable Preferred option first; otherwise the lowest comparable unit cost; otherwise the explicitly linked purchase option; otherwise the first available priority option.
- When pack/unit conversion is compatible, MiniTill rounds up to a suggested number of packs needed to reach the target.
- Low Recipe/Product stock is visible in Current stock but is not converted into supplier purchase suggestions; those items should be replenished through preparation/operational workflows.
When to use this
- Use Restock list after Stocktake or whenever Current stock shows Ingredient shortages.
Step-by-step
- Configure Minimum and Target stock for important Ingredients.
- Maintain Ingredient Purchase Options and supplier pricing in Costing.
- Open Current stock and identify Low items.
- Open Restock list.
- Review needed quantity, supplier/purchase option, selection reason, and suggested pack count.
- Use that information when placing the real supplier order.
Common mistakes
- Do not read Suggested packs as a confirmed supplier purchase order; it is a calculated recommendation.
- Do not assume the cheapest sticker price is selected; MiniTill compares compatible unit cost and respects Preferred options first.
- Do not expect a suggestion when pack units cannot be converted to the Ingredient base unit.
Troubleshooting
- If a low Ingredient is missing from Restock, check that both Minimum and Target are configured.
- If supplier/pack suggestion is missing, review active purchase options, usable quantity/unit, supplier link, and price.
- If the suggested pack count looks wrong, verify Stocktake conversion and supplier usable-quantity conversion.
