Inventory & Stocktake
Understand Current stock, Minimum, and Target
Read the Store's confirmed on-hand quantity, low-stock threshold, replenishment target, and last completed count.
Overview
- Current stock shows the ledger-derived on-hand quantity for each actively tracked Store inventory item.
- Minimum stock is the threshold used to decide when an item is Low.
- Target stock is the level MiniTill uses when calculating how much ingredient stock should be replenished.
- An item is flagged Low when Current stock is below Minimum stock.
- Last count shows the most recent counted timestamp from a completed Stocktake.
- A Never counted item can still have a system quantity, but it has not yet been confirmed by a completed physical Stocktake.
When to use this
- Use Current stock for a quick Store-level inventory health check after Stocktake or other recorded inventory movements.
Step-by-step
- Open Inventory → Current stock.
- Review On hand, Minimum, Target, and Last count.
- Investigate Low items.
- For Ingredient shortages with configured purchasing data, continue to Restock list.
- For Recipe/Product stock, use the appropriate preparation/operational replenishment process.
Common mistakes
- Do not assume Target is the amount to buy; it is the desired stock level, and Restock calculates the gap from Current stock.
- Do not assume an item is low when Current equals Minimum; the current Low rule is strictly below Minimum.
- Do not expect Current stock to automatically change menu availability.
Troubleshooting
- If an item never shows Low, confirm Minimum stock is configured.
- If Last count is missing, complete a Stocktake containing that item.
