Reports & Store Operations

Understand Reports & Store Operations

Use MiniTill reporting to understand recognised sales, product/customer behaviour, operational exceptions, till control, payments, and marketplace reconciliation.

Overview

  • MiniTill separates day-to-day operational views from deeper reports: Dashboard shows what needs attention now, while Reports analyse recognised sales and operational history over a selected period.
  • Core report areas include Sales, Products, Modifiers, Payments, Customers, Sales by Time, Order Channels, Menu Profitability, Product Affinity, Revenue Leakage, Payment Reliability, Till Variance, Marketplace Reconciliation, and Marketplace Settlements.
  • Most advanced analysis is plan-gated behind Advanced Reports; a locked report shows the feature gate rather than returning partial data.
  • Reports are scoped by the Business/Store access of the signed-in manager and use the selected Business timezone unless another supported timezone/filter is explicitly chosen.
  • Many reports can export CSV through the same report API/filter semantics used by the Back Office.

When to use this

  • Use Dashboard during service, Till Closing at the end of a cash period, and historical reports when reviewing sales, staffing patterns, menu decisions, customer behaviour, payment reliability, or external-channel settlement differences.

Step-by-step

  1. Start on Dashboard for today's takings and alerts.
  2. Choose the report that answers one specific question instead of comparing unrelated metrics.
  3. Set the correct Store, date range, timezone, and weekday filters.
  4. Read the report's accounting/coverage notes before acting on the result.
  5. Export CSV when deeper spreadsheet/accounting analysis is needed.
  6. Use Till Closing and reconciliation reports for operational exceptions that need a concrete follow-up.

Common mistakes

  • Do not assume every report groups revenue by Order created time; MiniTill's recognised-sales reports are payment-based.
  • Do not compare a current-cost profitability estimate with historical accounting margin as though they are identical concepts.
  • Do not use marketplace settlement totals as a replacement for normal recognised-sales reporting.

Troubleshooting

  • If a report is locked, check the Business plan/Advanced Reports entitlement.
  • If totals differ between reports, first compare date range, Store scope, timezone, payment/refund basis, and whether the report is operational, accounting, or current-cost based.
