ASAP and scheduled pickup
Offer valid pickup times based on Store hours, prep lead, interval, timezone, and the scheduling horizon.
Overview
- ASAP availability is calculated from Store hours plus Minimum prep minutes.
- Scheduled slots are generated from Store hours, Business timezone, Minimum prep minutes, Pickup interval, and Maximum scheduled days ahead.
- The earliest scheduled slot is rounded to the configured pickup interval after the minimum preparation lead.
- Customers cannot choose a time in the past, too soon, outside Store hours, or outside the generated schedule.
- The server validates the selected pickup time again when the order is submitted.
When to use this
- Use scheduled pickup for customers ordering later today or up to the configured future-day horizon.
Step-by-step
- Enable scheduled orders.
- Set prep minutes and interval.
- Set 1–7 days ahead.
- Confirm Store hours/timezone.
- Inspect generated slots.
- Place a scheduled test order.
Common mistakes
- Do not promise a slot the storefront excludes without understanding why.
- Do not shorten prep lead merely to expose earlier slots.
- Do not confuse pickup time with KDS activation time.
Troubleshooting
- If a slot is missing, check closed hours, timezone, prep lead, interval, and scheduling horizon.
- ASAP may be unavailable near closing if there is not enough prep time remaining.
