Online Ordering
When a scheduled online order enters KDS
Keep future orders out of active kitchen work until their prep window, then activate automatically or start early from KDS.
Overview
- A confirmed scheduled online order is not intended to occupy the active KDS board hours or days too early.
- MiniTill calculates KDS activation as Pickup time minus the Store's Minimum prep minutes.
- Before that point, normal KDS/printing preparation side effects are suppressed.
- A protected scheduled activation job promotes due confirmed orders and ensures KDS state on active displays.
- KDS staff can choose Start Preparing Now to begin early without changing the customer's promised pickup time.
When to use this
- Use this model for later-day and future-day pickup orders.
Step-by-step
- Customer chooses a scheduled pickup time.
- Order becomes auto-confirmed or staff-confirmed.
- It waits until Pickup time − Minimum prep minutes.
- At activation time MiniTill sends it into the normal KDS/print path.
- Use Start Preparing Now if work must begin earlier.
Common mistakes
- Do not treat a future order as missing because it is not on active KDS yet.
- Do not edit pickup time just to make it appear earlier.
- Do not duplicate it in POS.
Troubleshooting
- If a due order did not activate, check confirmation, pickup time, prep lead, active KDS slots, and scheduled activation/system issues.
- Use Start Preparing Now for intentional early preparation.
