Online Ordering
Understand MiniTill Online Ordering
Use a Store-specific pickup storefront that shares MiniTill menu, availability, customers, loyalty, order status, and KDS workflow.
Overview
- MiniTill Online Ordering is a Store-specific public pickup storefront built on the same catalogue used by POS.
- Customers can browse products, modifiers, images, notes, availability, pickup options, and loyalty without staff re-entering the order.
- Orders are created as normal MiniTill orders with source ONLINE_ORDER and fulfilment PICKUP.
- The current standard food-order checkout is Pay in store: the order is placed online, but payment is normally collected at pickup.
- Online orders participate in MiniTill's review, scheduled-order, KDS, printing, loyalty, and customer-facing status workflows.
When to use this
- Use the storefront for direct pickup orders from your website, Google profile, social media, QR code, or any shared Store ordering link.
Step-by-step
- Enable Online Ordering for the Store.
- Configure the public Store profile, pickup rules, menu visibility, and loyalty.
- Share the Store's /order/... link.
- Run one ASAP order and one scheduled order.
- Confirm review/KDS flow and customer status updates.
Common mistakes
- Do not create a second menu only for Online Ordering.
- Do not describe standard online food checkout as prepaid unless a supported online payment flow is actually configured.
- Do not assume every online order immediately appears on active KDS.
Troubleshooting
- If the storefront is unavailable, check entitlement, Store status, enabled state, and Pause ordering.
- If an order exists but is not on KDS, check review status and scheduled activation timing.
