Supported payment terminals

Overview

• Windcave is currently the supported integrated card-present terminal provider for MiniTill POS.
• Smartpay and Verifone terminals cannot currently be connected directly to MiniTill for integrated payment processing.
• If your business uses another terminal provider, you can use a separate manual payment workflow where appropriate, but MiniTill will not control that terminal.

When to use this

• Check this before buying a terminal or changing payment providers.

Step-by-step

1. Confirm which terminal provider your business uses or plans to use.
2. For Windcave, follow the Windcave setup guide and assign the terminal to the correct POS.
3. For Smartpay, Verifone, or another unsupported provider, keep the terminal separate from MiniTill and record the payment using an appropriate manual method if needed.
4. Contact MiniTill support before changing providers if direct POS integration is important to your business.

Common mistakes

• Do not assume Smartpay or Verifone can be connected just because your business already uses those terminals.
• Do not buy new terminal hardware without first checking current MiniTill compatibility.
• Do not record a manual terminal payment as integrated unless the payment was actually processed through MiniTill.

Troubleshooting

• If Windcave is connected but a payment is not completing, use the Windcave payment troubleshooting guide.
• If you are using another terminal provider, troubleshoot the terminal with that provider separately from MiniTill.
