Register and test printers
Register Store network printers with address/protocol settings, enable receipt/docket roles, and test the real device before service.
Overview
- Printers are Store-scoped and are registered with name, optional model, IP address, port, brand, protocol, active state, and printing roles.
- Current printer protocol options include RAW_9100, STAR_PRNT, and ESC_POS.
- A printer can be enabled for Receipts, Dockets, or both.
- Receipt auto-print and Docket auto-print are configured independently.
- Printer detail records the latest test-print time and the latest print-failure reason where available.
- A Test print should be used before enabling automatic live printing.
When to use this
- Use this when installing/replacing a receipt or kitchen docket printer on the Store network.
Step-by-step
- Give the printer a stable network address/reservation where possible.
- Open Store Settings → Devices → Printers.
- Add the printer with the correct IP, port, brand, and protocol.
- Enable Receipt and/or Docket output.
- Choose auto-print settings.
- Run Test print.
- Only then enable it for live service.
Common mistakes
- Do not copy another printer's IP address.
- Do not assume port 9100/protocol is correct for every printer model.
- Do not enable automatic printing before a successful test.
Troubleshooting
- If Test print fails, check printer power/paper/network/IP/port/protocol before changing order data.
- If a printer worked yesterday but its IP changed, configure a DHCP reservation/static address and update MiniTill.
