Print jobs, failures, and retry
Check what happened when a receipt or kitchen docket did not print, then retry it safely.
Overview
- MiniTill keeps a record of receipt and kitchen print requests so staff can see whether printing completed or failed.
- A print request can remain waiting if the printer or the device responsible for printing is unavailable.
- If printing fails, fix the printer or connection first and then retry the existing job.
- A printing problem does not mean the order or payment itself has failed.
When to use this
- Use this when a receipt or kitchen docket was expected but did not physically print.
Step-by-step
- Open the Store's print or receipt job list.
- Find the missing receipt or docket and check its status.
- Check that the correct printer is powered on, connected, and assigned.
- Fix any printer or network issue shown.
- Retry the existing print job once.
- Confirm it prints before creating another manual reprint.
Common mistakes
- Do not press Print repeatedly while the original request is still waiting.
- Do not assume a failed print means the customer's payment failed.
- Do not delete printer settings just to clear one failed print job.
Troubleshooting
- If jobs remain waiting, check that the MiniTill device responsible for that printer is online.
- If the same job repeatedly fails, fix the printer connection or hardware issue before retrying again.
