Business, Stores & Staff
Use Owner, Business Manager, and Store Manager views
Switch to a lower management view to see the Back Office closer to how delegated managers experience it.
Overview
- Owners and managers may be able to switch the Back Office View shown in the account/workspace menu.
- An Owner can view MiniTill at Owner, Business Manager, or Store Manager level. A Business Manager can use Business Manager or Store Manager view. A user can never switch to a higher level than their actual role.
- View mode changes which navigation layers are shown; it does not permanently change the user's real assigned role.
- MiniTill also considers active delegated Business Managers and Store Managers when deciding which responsibility layers are most relevant in navigation.
When to use this
- Use View switching when an Owner wants to work with a simpler manager-focused navigation or verify what delegated managers are expected to handle.
- It can also help explain why some Owner-level navigation is intentionally hidden while working in a lower operational view.
Step-by-step
- Open the account/workspace menu in Back Office.
- Find the View section when more than one view level is available.
- Choose Owner, Business Manager, or Store Manager as allowed by your actual role.
- Continue working in the selected view; MiniTill remembers the active view for that business.
- Switch back to your higher actual-role view when you need owner/business-level navigation again.
Common mistakes
- Do not mistake View mode for changing somebody's actual staff role.
- Do not assume a missing Owner menu means your ownership was removed; first check whether you switched to Business Manager or Store Manager view.
- Do not use View switching instead of assigning the correct roles to other staff.
Troubleshooting
- If a higher view is not offered, MiniTill never allows switching above your actual role.
- If navigation looks unexpectedly limited, open the account/workspace menu and check the active View.
- If another staff member needs different permissions, change their Staff & Access role or assignments rather than your own View setting.
