Troubleshooting & FAQ
MiniTill is slow, out of date, or temporarily offline
Work out whether the problem affects one device, your local network, or an external service before changing orders or settings.
Overview
- A problem on one device does not always mean MiniTill is unavailable everywhere.
- Some features depend on your local Wi-Fi, internet connection, printer or display connection, or an external service such as Windcave, Xero, or Uber Eats.
- Before changing data, first check whether another MiniTill device sees the same problem.
When to use this
- Use this if a screen is not updating, one device shows different information, or staff report that MiniTill is not responding.
Step-by-step
- Check whether another MiniTill device or browser has the same problem.
- Check the affected device's Wi-Fi and internet connection.
- If the issue is only Customer Display, check the local POS-to-display connection as well.
- If the issue is only KDS, reopen or refresh the KDS after confirming the network is available.
- If the issue is only a payment or external integration, check that service separately.
- Do not restart an uncertain payment until you have confirmed whether the first attempt succeeded.
Common mistakes
- Do not delete or recreate an order because one screen is out of date.
- Do not reinstall or re-pair every device when only one device is affected.
- Do not restart a payment while the result of the first attempt is unknown.
Troubleshooting
- If only one device is affected, focus on that device and its network connection first.
- If every Store and device is affected at the same time, record the time of the issue and contact support.
