Ingredients, Recipes, Costing & Purchasing
Use the Costing Dashboard
Find missing Recipe/Product costs, products above target, supplier connection problems, unlinked supplier products, and queued price changes.
Overview
- The Dashboard is the operational health screen for Costing at the selected Store.
- Recipe coverage shows calculable active Recipes.
- Product coverage covers Products with Recipe links that can currently be costed.
- Over target identifies costed Products whose current food-cost percentage is above their effective target.
- Supplier connection issues include failed connection tests, sync errors, or enabled scheduled syncs that have become stale.
- Unlinked supplier products identify active supplier catalogue items that are not connected to any Ingredient purchase option.
- Queued price changes and pending Cost Reviews show supplier-price changes that still need processing or management attention.
When to use this
- Use the Dashboard as the first place to check Costing health rather than opening every Recipe individually.
Step-by-step
- Choose the Store.
- Review effective target and its Business/Store source.
- Check Recipe and Product coverage.
- Fix Supplier connection issues and unlinked products.
- Open over-target Products for detailed costing.
- Process queued price histories when shown.
- Review pending Cost Reviews.
Common mistakes
- Do not interpret 100% Recipe coverage as every menu Product being costed; Product coverage is separate.
- Do not ignore unlinked supplier products if they represent ingredients you actually buy.
- Do not assume a queued price history is already a finished Cost Review.
Troubleshooting
- If the Dashboard shows a Recipe without cost, open it and trace its warnings.
- If supplier health is stale, test/sync the connection before trusting old prices.
